FI(A) RATING (PDF)

This is information package to get a Flight Instructor rating at Aero Club Milano FTO (Flight Training Organization). 1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.
   • Current CPL(A) or above or, for holders of PPL(A), at least 200h flight time 150 of which as PIC.
   • Theoretical CPL(A) exam passed.
   • At least 30h on SEP airplane 5h of which made during the 6 months preceding the pre-entry flight test (v. below).
   • At least 10h of IR training, no more than 5h of which on FNPT simulator.
   • At least 20h cross-country flight time including a 300NM, 2 full stop raid.
   • Passing apre-entry flight test in the FTO.
2. GROUND AND FLIGHT COURSE.
   Aero Club Milano FTO organizes FI(A) rating courses over the year. Lessons schedule is published in advance to allow students to be properly informed.
   • GROUND COURSE. The ground course (125h) is held in the classroom: subjects include teaching techniques, JAR-FCL rules, training missions development and others as required buy JAR-FCL. Books, maps and other learning aids are supplied by Aero Club Milano and as approved by relevant rules and standards.
   • FLIGHT COURSE. Flight training (30h minimum) is performed on FTO airplanes (C172, PA28-200R, CAP-10 see Fleet) under the responsibility of the assigned Flight Instructor.
3. COSTS.
   Base fee is €9500,- for Aero Club Milano members, € 12000,- for non-members. Flight activity exceeding minimum 30h as per JAR-FCL rules is fared according to (see Standard Costs).
4. DOCUMENTS.
   Since FI(A) is a legal document, it is necessary to open a folder at ENAC (Italian Aviation Authority) including the following documents and certificates. Burocratic part is taken care of by Aero Club Milano under student's delegation and is part of services offered by the Club.
