National Science and Technology Museum of Milan, the most important in Italy, offers to Aviation enthusiasts a large pavilion with many interesting examples.

In the courtyard besides the pavilion are exposed a FIAT F86K, fighter-interceptor of the '50 built under North American license, and a FIAT G91-PAN, used by National Aerobatic Wing "Frecce Tricolori" until the '70, when has been substituted by Aermacchi MB-339 used up to now.

Inside is conserved a North American T6 Texan in orange camouflage of Basic Flying School of Italian Air Force in Latina: besides, the fuselage, survived to the WW2, of a Caproni-Campini CC2, a 1938 hybrid jet aircraft equipped with a Isotta-Fraschini 950Hp piston engine driving an axial compressor to feed a combustion chamber where propulsion thrust was generated.

Only survived Italian Warbird, is a Macchi MC205 Veltro, equipped with Daimler-Benz DB605, 12-cylinders 1400HP engine, restored to flying condition by Aermacchi recovering loose parts in the whole Country after years of defatigating research. The aircraft, which was damaged during test flights after restoration (it is a really difficult plane to fly), shows the paintings of Royal Italian Air Force before Armistice.

Another valuable piece is a rare 1934 La Cierva gyrocopter, interesting example of short take-off and landing aircraft which had no practical follow-on. Besides, we find a Breda Ba.15, aircraft for training and tourism built in many examples between WW1 and WW2, and a De Havilland D.H. 100 Vampire Mk.52, first jet aircraft in service with Italian Air Force, with tha characteristics, quite peculiar for an aircraft of this performance, of being totally wooden.

Collection is completed by several trophies, instruments, propellers, engines and some shopwindows with model aircraft presenting Aviation history in Italy and abroad.

An interesting Internet Site is now available as well.
