Piper J3C-65 is the aircraft allowing Aero Club Milano to restart flight activity in 1947 after WWII, when three examples were bought fro scrap in a military allied surplus camp next to Naples and flown with a lot of mishaps up to Milan: One of these three historical aircrafts, I-MALU, in her shining yellow livery, is still part of the Club's fleet in perfect flight conditions, as flying testimonial of Club's long-dated history.
High-wing, wood-, steel tubes and fabric built, tandem-seat, has been conceived as military light reconnaissance and liason airplane, offering ease of flying and operating economy. Continental 65HP engine is started by propeller hand-launch as in the very beginning of aviation: finally, I-MALU is a precious jewel Aero Club Milano is proud to offer to members.
